The University's text alert system has been expanded to allow anyone, including non-affiliates and community members, to sign up for emergency communications in cases where ongoing events pose an immediate threat or have a significant impact.

Effective Monday, June 22, 2020, all faculty, staff, and students are required to complete a COVID-19 symptom self-check (screening) every day before they enter campus premises. Columbia Transportation and Public Safety have partnered with Via to transition the Evening Shuttle service to an app-based rideshare system to provide a new and improved on-demand, safe, convenient and free transportation service for Columbia affiliates after hours.
