On 12/28/2020, an autistic child was reported to be missing by a parent to Public Safety Officer (PSO) Shanda Brown. PSO Brown transmitted a detailed description, and the last known location of the missing child over the radio, to which Sgt. Gregory Marrero, from the Operations Desk, and Sgt Linval Forrest, from the field, expertly handled. Public Safety worked as a cohesive team, which resulted in the reuniting of the child and the parent. This was a fitting example of teamwork, as well as an example of the concerns the Department of Public Safety shares and addresses with the Columbia Community routinely.
