The Department of Public Safety is providing an update on the incidents reported in connection with the January 19 protest. This follows updates on January 21 and January 22 from the interim provost.
The New York Police Department investigation is ongoing. NYPD and Columbia continue to seek the community’s support in reporting any relevant information as NYPD’s investigation continues. We are grateful to the members of our community who have come forward already.
We want to emphasize that the University will not take any retaliatory action against any participant in the January 19 protest who reports information to the NYPD to assist in their investigation. Our priority is assisting the NYPD in tracking down the facts and taking action as necessary. To this end, reporting all available facts and evidence is essential.
