Campus Access During University Convocation – May 15

Dear fellow members of the Columbia community,

University Convocation 2024: For Students, By Students will be held on Wednesday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (rain or shine) on the Morningside campus and will be an opportunity for graduates across Columbia to gather and celebrate.

Faculty, students, and staff should be aware of logistics and impacts to campus this day:

• Given the event logistics and number of graduates on campus, Morningside-based faculty and staff who are able to work remotely during the Convocation celebration are encouraged to do so. If you have any questions about coming to campus at that time, please discuss with your supervisor.
• For Morningside-based faculty, students, and staff who elect to be on campus and have access based on current protocols, enter campus at the north pedestrian walkway entrance at Amsterdam and 116th Street or the Earl Hall Gate at 117th Street and Broadway.
• For students and staff needing disability access to the eastern part of campus, enter at the Wien Gate on 116th Street between Amsterdam and Morningside Drive.

Important reminders:

• Columbia University Identification (CUID) is required for all to enter campus.
• Individuals may be subject to bag check at entry.
• Columbia Transportation shuttle riders should note adjustments to the 120 Street (Teachers College) stops due to 120 Street traffic closure as part of the event.
