Public Safety Supervisors Apprehend a Suspect near CUIMC

Lt. Goudswaard responded to a notification made by Sr. Sgt. O’Donnell to the DPS CUIMC Operations desk about an employee being the victim of public lewdness and forcible touching in front of 601 West 168th Street. Together with Sr. Sgt. O’Donnell, Lt. Goudswaard approached the suspect in front of the Ft. Washington Armory. After the suspect started to flee, Lt. Goudswaard ran beside him, deflecting attempts by the suspect to hit him. With the assistance of Sr. Sgt. O’Donnell, the suspect was apprehended, detained without further incident and arrested by the NYPD. Both supervisors’ calm, professional and determined demeanor helped apprehend this individual and protect the community from further incidents.
