Crime Log
Pursuant with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (or the Clery Act), Columbia University's Department of Public Safety keeps a Crime Log which is available for review by the general public.
The Crime Log lists all criminal allegations that have occurred on Columbia University’s Clery-Reportable geography and have been reported to the Department of Public Safety. These include allegations of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking and bias or hate crimes. Incidents reported to outside agencies like the NYPD, but not reported to the Department of Public Safety may not be included in the Log. The Crime Log represents alleged incidents from our Morningside, Manhattanville and Medical Center campuses. Note that the Crime Log is not representative of confirmed incidents; incidents do not require prior investigation or confirmation in order to appear on this list.
To request a copy of the Crime Log please visit or call one of the Public Safety offices below. You can also email us at [email protected]. Please note, any requests for Crime Log entries going back past three months may take up to two business days to fulfill.
