Dear Members of the Columbia Community,
I am writing to make you aware of several recent incidents of a man exposing himself in Morningside Park. An Emergency Notification System alert and Crime Informational were distributed last night to advise the university community of the most recent incident, which prompted a Columbia Public Safety and NYPD response and canvass of the area to locate the person responsible. We are working in partnership with NYPD to investigate these incidents and increasing our presence in the area.
I remind community members to remain vigilant and aware of your surroundings when traveling through the park during both day and nighttime hours. If possible, travel with a friend or in groups. Remember to use the various safety resources mentioned in my previous message to you. If you observe suspicious behavior, immediately contact 911 or Columbia University Public Safety at (212) 854-5555.
